In the past several months, Broadway stans have:

celiabowne:

  • Tracked down an actor’s girlfriend and sent her (hilariously non-threatening) nasty messages because they’re angry their RP ship isn’t real
  • Tagged actors in boots
  • Bombarded Tony winners with horrible messages because their faves didn’t win and then tagged in those faves to the hate
  • Followed actors too far past the stage door
  • Tried to sabotage an actor’s casting because of some conspiracy theory (if you need to “interpret” comments and make youtube videos like some middle-aged “truther” to “make your case,” your argument ain’t that strong. sincerely, a writing teacher)
  • Caused literal mob scenes at stage doors
  • Behaved inappropriately while in the shows themselves
  • Shipped real people
  • Done all this in addition to their usual obsessive, mildly creepy behavior that actors are too nice and/or in too precarious a position to call out.

And you wonder why I can’t stand stan culture. I am begging you, grow up and grow some common sense. Loving something passionately is one thing. Stalking it is another. I don’t typically tag fandoms in not-positive posts but y’all need to get a grip, so I don’t really care this time.
